"Now that we have all the equipment that we need, let's talk about alignment and breathing. It's very important to whatever exercise you're going to do. We want to start by getting safely to the ground. You want to start by placing your feet safely on the ground and you want to roll down, one vertebrate at a time. You want to make sure that your knees are aligned with your hip. There should be a straight line, parallel line, to both your knee caps and your hip bones. You want to breathe. Start the exercising by inhaling on the ground, and when you come up you want to exhale on the movement. A great way to make sure that you're exhaling is by counting; because there is no way that you can talk and not breathe at the same time, so you have to breathe when you're counting. You want to make sure at all times when you're crunching up, that your elbows, you should not be able to see your elbows when you're crunching up. You're elbows should be pointing east and west. That is proper alignment and breathing. Let's go over that again, you want to make sure that when you're coming up on the movement that you're breathing, when you're going down you want to inhale. Also, you want to make sure that you're in proper alignment. Keep those elbows back because your body is very smart, and it will try to cheat, to help you do the rep very easily and the easiest way. You want to challenge your body by keeping those elbows back."
