" Hi! This is Manny Castro, Exercise Physiologist. Another one of the standard exercises that you can use on the stability ball is the biceps curl. Again, it’s basically just a bicep curl until you put a stability ball that you have to sit on and then you have to maintain your balance. Now any time you do one of these standard exercises your feet are going to be above the shoulder width apart, or if you want to make it more difficult you can bring your feet together and that will force you to balance even more on the ball. Now for my demonstration, I’ll try to make it a little bit more difficult by bringing my feet together. However, it’s basically the same thing. Your palms are facing forward to start the exercise and you bring the dumbbells up, curl them up, and then bring them back down. Notice, when I curl these dumbbells up, I do not let my elbows slide forward at the end of the movement. I keep them by my ribcage. If you want to do another variation of this exercise, you can do a hammer curl. Basically, your thumbs are pointing up on this exercise. That’s targeting more of the outside of the bicep, plus what is called your brachialis on the forearm. "
