" Hi! My name is Maneesh Chada and today we’re going to be going over some basic techniques with the product called Vibe disc. Vibe disc stands for vestibular inertial balance energizer, the vibe disc is a rotational balance board which provides a 360 degree range of motion, this product is designed to help you develop better balance, coordination and body awareness. Today I have Kathleen Wainwright who is a certified occupational therapist and Feldenkrais practitioner who’s going to assist me today prior to using the vibe disc. We need to make sure we’re warmed up and we have the proper stretching before we engage into any type of exercise activity, okay I’m going to have Kathleen show us some warm up exercises before we use the vibe and Kathleen. So we just stretch kind of circling the hips rotating the hips would be great, so you want to get those hips and legs stretched out and your ribs stretched, the back stretched, just kind of get used to moving in ways that we’re going to be moving on the vibe disc. Make sure that your trunk area has some warm up time and as we’re also warming up our trunk we need to start warming up our legs and also our calves and some basic stretching in our thighs, so keep in mind that stretching is a very important thing to do before you step onto the vibe and start using it. What I want to make sure we understand here before we get started is for anybody using the vibe disc you have to start using the vibe at zero degrees or on flat slow, so what I want you to do is step on the vibe disc and get proper foot position and you do that by keeping your feet parallel and out towards the edges of the disc, so go ahead and move your feet toward the outer edge, perfect okay head straight up. Now what we’re going to do now is we’re going to do some basic quarter turns to the right and quarter turns to the left to determine which side someone has more of an emphasis on, so what I want you to do is go ahead and make four consecutive turns so think of this as a clock, three o’clock right here rotate, great okay and over here six o’clock, nine o’clock and as you use it more and more it gets easier. Okay, keep in mind to keep your head in alignment with your shoulders as you’re rotating and you’ll be able to develop better rotational skills."
