Hi this is Manny Castro, Exercise Physiologist. In this clip I would like to talk to you a little bit about strengthening the back of the leg which is the hamstring muscles, right back here and you will accomplish this by again using your handy chair that we used for the other exercises in the previous clips and again you will hold on to the back of your chair, stand about a foot behind your chair, and what you will do with your feet a little bit narrower than shoulder width, you’ll bring your foot up off the floor while keeping your knees even with each other. And once again you want to raise with about a count of 3 pause at the top for a second and lower for another count of 3 and all the while you’re doing this and every exercise that we’ve emphasized so far and every other strengthening exercise that your really do, what you want to do is keep your back straight and your abdominals nice and tight. You want to have a good posture doing all of these good exercises, so you want to stand nice and erect here. Once you’ve finished with your left leg, 8 to 15 repetitions, then you will move on to your right leg and you will complete 8 to 15 repetitions with your right leg. When you complete your 8 to 15 repetitions with your right leg, then you will rest 2 to 3 minutes and again repeat 2 to 3 times or 2 to 3 sets total.
