" Hello! I’m Marc from Arizona Center of mixed martial arts. I’m here on behalf of expertvillage.com, and I’m here to demonstrate the Achilles lock used in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Go ahead guys. Okay, time. Lay down Sonny. What we’re demonstrating is the Achilles lock. What the Achilles lock does is I’m putting pressure on the ankle, breaking the ankle. Basically, I’m hyperextending the ankle this direction. What I’m using, like before in chokes used in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I used the blade of the wrist. As I get him down, the tip of the toes are what’s in my armpit. If I’m too high, it doesn’t matter how hard I do it. I can almost lift him, it’s going to hurt a little, but it’s not going to break anything. What I need to do is I need my armpit on the tip of toes. I need to use a blade in my wrist across the Achilles, I’m going to arch my hips, and come back. Sometimes, for whatever reason the angles off, I’m going to reach across with the left had, grab the bicep, and come back. So first, the Achilles lock is here, grab back, second Achilles across, grab, back. Okay, I’ll have you guys try it one more time. Lay down Vincent. He’s going to utilize the blade of his wrist across the Achilles, tip of the toes on the bicep. He’s going to pop his back, his hip’s forward, it’s going to break the ankle. He’s going to adjust if he’s not getting a tight enough lock across, grabs his bicep, leans back, pops the hips, breaks the ankle. That’s the Achilles lock. "
