"I’m Marc Zee from Arizona Center of mixed martial arts. I’m here on behalf of expertvillage.com. I’m here to demonstrate the arm bar takedown. Go ahead guys. Alright, the arm bar takedown is a pretty simple self-defense technique. On the street, the guy grabs me. What I’m going to utilize here is what’s called an arm drag. What I’m going to do is first I’m going to break this grip. Whether he’s grabbing onto whatever part of my clothes I’m going to grab onto his wrist or onto the Gi here, and I’m going to push it away just enough to break it. I’m going to grab high behind the armpit onto the tricep; I’m going to drag it across my body. Okay. One more time, he grabs onto my Gi. I’m going to break this grip. I’m going to grab behind the tricep, drag it across the body. From here, I’ve neutralized any attack that he can make. One last time, grabs on, break the grip, neutralize and the attack. From here, I can punch him, strike him, but what I want to do is neutralize him so that he can’t hurt me or hurt anybody I know. From here, I’m going to grab around the waist here. I’m going to hit the bottom of my foot, the Achilles tendon, to take him to the mat. Okay. I’m going to use Vincent here, he’s going to demonstrate the take down since I’m wired for sound. Notice how he stabilizes the position once he gets him to the mat, that’s key. Grabs on, breaks the grip, grabs the tricep, pulls across, bottom of the foot, and stabilizes the take down. Good. Now this one, he’s going to finish with an arm bar, so he’s going to break the grip, drag the arm, take him to the ground, stabilize the position, step over the head, finish with the arm bar. Grab the Gi, break the grip, round the waist, stabilize the position, and finish with the arm bar. One time really slow. Go through, grabs the Gi, breaks the grip, arm drags, foot behind the heel, stabilizes the position, steps over the head, steps over the head, and finishes with the arm bar. "
