on 8/2/2008 Sorry, Maria, this is a one star review. A major inaccuracy that I immediately notice is you service grip. You have the racket face parallel to the surface of the court, which means that you have your racket in a Western grip (also iknown as a frying pan grip). This is the least practical grip possible. The Eastern grip (shake hands with the racket) is good for beginners, or the Continental grips is good for more experienced players. Dribbling the ball is for rhythm and concentration. "Smacking" the ball is a misleading description; it implies a sudden, jerky motion for power, and what you want is a smooth swing from beginning to end. Also it's Crucial to pronate (oscillate your forearm and wrist in a counter-clockwide torquing motion). It's also very important to move your wrist in a snapping forward and downward motion just before contact with the ball. I apologize for this critique, but if beginners follow your demonstrated instructions they will have to relearn the correct motions in order to establish a competent serve. I have been teaching tennis for over a decade. You can check out my website at tennistom.net to see what is happening with my beginners in Chapel Hill, NC. Nevertheless you deserve kudos for your intentions concerning the great game of tennis.

"Hi, I am Maria Clark and I am going to tell you the very basic of playing tennis. Right now what I am going to do is serve the ball. Then I looked at my opponent and I look over the net and was timing it trying to see where my ball is going to go. So, here you go. I am just going to go ahead and toss it and smack it. So here we go again. As I mentioned earlier, if you are serving the ball from that direction in the right hand side of the opposite court, so you need to make sure that you are looking over the net and make sure the ball is going to land on this side of the court.
