"MADISON CHASE: For your upper-body workout, let's cover our alignment and our breathing. So the basic movement for you upper body, I'm sure you guys know is a push-up. Everybody hates pushups, but I'm going to show you how to love them. 'Cause if you do them efficiently, they will be effective. Okay, so the basic push-up, you're hands are going to be shoulder-line apart. So you want to make sure that your hands are in line with your shoulders and you want to make sure that your chest is going to come close to whatever surface you're using. Today, we're actually using a bench. You could do the same thing on your bed. You could also do the same thing on a wall. If you're a beginner, start with the wall. If you're intermediate, you could try a bench or a bed, and if you're advance, you could actually do a decline where you're going to be going down. So you're body is actually going to be lower than the actual surface that your legs are going to be on as well. And also, we could do the same movement, alignment-wise. By bringing our hands closer together, we're actually focusing on our triceps. So again, you want to make sure that your body is in a straight line from the side; your body should also be almost in a diagonal, okay? So you want to come down and make sure that your chest touches whatever surface you're using; whether it's the bench, whether it's your bed, whether it's the floor, or a wall. You want to make sure that you're breathing and you want to make sure that you're engaging your core. So any kind of workout you're doing, whether it's the bootylicious, abilicious, or your lower body or your upper-body workout, you want to make sure that you're always engaging your core."
