"Hi. My name is Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village, here talk about cheerleading stunts. Conditioning is a really important part of being on a cheerleading squad. You have to make sure you do cardio and also strength training. Now a captain of your squad should really set a regimen routine that the whole squad can follow. If you are a school squad, you can set up a sign in board in your gym. Make sure everyone goes at least once a day for thirty minutes. Signs in on the board just to keep track of it. What flyers should focus on is really cardio training. Everyone should focus on cardio because when we're in games and competitions there's going to be a lot of running around. You're not going to have a lot of down time. It's also really important to focus on your core strength. The best way to focus on your core strength is through doing lots of sit ups. Sit ups are an easy exercise we can do by ourselves everyday, I would say do at least twenty-five to fifty. Push ups are also a really key element. Now you can do your regular push ups, which you'll see here. Make sure you go all the way down, and all the way up. If those are a little harder for you and you want to do them on your knees, if you can get more repetition like that, go ahead and do them that way. It's really going to help with your arm muscles. Another thing we use a lot as cheerleaders is we're going to lay flat on our backs and we're going to lift our feet up like this. It's really good for your lower abs and it's really going to work your muscles so you can stay tight in the air and on the ground."
