"Hi! I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village here to talk about cheerleading jumps and tumbling. We're going to go over the most basic jump in cheerleading that's actually appropriate to do in games in competition level. The tuck jump, which you can see demonstrated here in this book, is basically when the entire body is going to go up in one unit. We're going to make sure we take our knees and tuck them close into our chest. This is why it's going to be called a tuck jump. Now, we're going to start with the preparation that we learned earlier. The tuck jump is best performed off to the side. This way, people watching the jump can see your position and see your head off the ground. For facing the front, we're really just going to see the top of your torso, so it's not going the that interesting. This the only variation of the tuck jump as far as your leg positioning, and there's 2 positions that your arms can be in the tuck jump. The first one is over your head in the goal post position. The second one is down around your body in a clean position. The tuck jump will look like this."
