"Alright. So, now you want to know how to burn more calories while you're walking. The first rule of thumb I think, is you either increase your distance or increase your speed. If you're a beginner walker, it's great to increase your distance before you increase your speed. Now, a good rule of thumb with calories and walking is a mile is equivalent into about a hundred calories burned for a hundred and eighty pound person. So, if you're just starting out with your walk. You may want to just increase your distance first. If you go a mile, let's say go a mile and a half. Or, the next week increase it by a half mile each week. That way, you're really increasing your distance and you're increasing the calories that are burned. Another great thing about walking is when you walk to thirty to sixty minutes you really get the stored fat. You start burning stored fat in your body. And, also you build more muscle and that increases your metabolism. So, really if you can work up to an hour a day that will be absolutely wonderful for doing those things. Also, the more you walk the more consistent you are with walking at least thirty to sixty minutes. It really reduces your risk of many different types of cancers, obesity, diabetes and it really increases your energy. So, isn't it time for you to add an hour in your day just to go outside and walk?"
