You have to study diligently the rule books, you can watch baseball, you'll hear the announcers when you're watching television, you'll hear the announcers say wow you know I've been in baseball for thirty years and I've never seen that play. And that happens a lot. You think you know everything but nobody knows everything. I've been doing this for five years and it seems like once a week something comes up where you have to look in the rule book or you have to really back into your memory bank to find out, what's the technical rule on this. And then you'll have arguments. Every league has different rules. So that's why in the beginning of the game you'll go over ground rules. And you'll find the idiosyncrasies of the different leagues and what different rules they might have. So it's very important to stay in shape, to read the rules, watch a lot of baseball and remember as much as you can. So now if you're really looking to learn the game while you read the rule book, you'll watch a lot of television. I found that going to the internet was a bank of information, endless I mean I could go for days and days and read the rules of umpiring, different plays that happened during the course of a college season. So there is so many places that you can learn about this game and believe or not, you can be in it for fifty years and you'll probably still learn something the next day."
