Various Archery Methods for Shooting a Bow & Arrow

"Hello, I'm Leroy Sisco, and on behalf of Expert Village, I'd like to give you a few tips and techniques on archery. Now there's different ways to shoot a bow, and years ago I used to shoot with fingers. This is the way I would shoot the bow; I'd pull it with my fingers and shoot. And I was pretty hardheaded about it, I was going, "I'm going to be a finger shooter". But then I had a friend talk me into trying a release. And as soon as I tried a release, well then I was runt in. It's so much more accurate, it's much easier to use, so I highly recommend that you use a release on a compound bow. This is a different type of release. I'm not even sure if this release is made anymore, but I just love this thing. You put it on there, there's your safety. Most of them, you put your finger behind the trigger, is your safety. And they've got some great releases out there, and I have several backup releases that are made by the manufacturers. But that, again, goes into personal preference. I like a small, compact release, and they have them from Little Goose to Cobra makes great releases, there's just several different releases out there. Then again on the sight, Copper John, Truglo, Cobra, all of them make great sights, and I'm very impressed with all of these manufacturers, they have really come on today with all the good stuff they have. You just need to pick out and do what you like and what's best for you and most pro shops will help you do that."
