"So I would like to start with a breathing practice that a lot of my prenatal yoga students have used. They have actually even used throughout the labor successfully. Your are going to bring your hand up. Your are going to curve your little finger and middle finger in towards your palm. You are going to bring your hands so your palm is facing, it is right in front of your mouth. So you are going to inhale, now you are going to press your ring finger against our left nostril and exhale out the right. You are going to inhale through the right nostril, press your thumb against the right nostril and exhale out of the left. Inhale left and switch exhale right. Inhale right switch and exhale left. Just do three more rounds inhale left. This is a really nice breathing practice because it forces us to focus on our breath and it also slows down our breath, until you are only you have to breathe through one nostril, when we breath slowly it naturally has a calming effect on the nervous system, calming the nervous system has a calming and soothing relaxing effect on the entire body."
