"Welcome to Expert Village. My name is Lloyd Reeves. We are going to work on the reverse stroke. The most common mistake people make when they are doing a reverse stroke is they take the time to turn the paddle around and try paddling backwards if they have a symmetric blade or wing paddle. All you have to do is hold it like normal and just gently paddle backwards. It is so easy, don’t waste time turning it around in your hand cause if you do a back stroke and you need to go forward, you got the paddle all weird on the other side so back stroke is real simple. You don’t need to be going 7 miles an hour backward, just nice and easy."
