"Hi, I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you some cheer leading squad cheers today. We're going to talk about chants, and I'm going to demonstrate some that you can take to your squad. Now it's really important as cheer leaders to know how we're supposed to stand while we're waiting for cheers to be called, in between cheers, after and before. Now the basic stance we're going to want to use when standing still, watching the game, is going to be feet a little bit further than shoulder width apart and a lot of times we're going to want to keep our hands held behind us. This is a really clean, appropriate stance. Make sure you're paying attention to the game. It looks formal. A lot of squads will also do hands on the hips, which is a nice variation. It's a little harder to hold for the duration of a whole football or basketball game. This one's a little more relaxed. We can also do a stance with our feet together, arms behind. That one's nice as well. Now it's really important to choose clean / cling stance that the whole squad is going to be comfortable with. Sometimes we're going to use fist. We want to make sure that we're really, really tight. Now this is going to be used to start every cheer and end every cheer. This is an example of the fists. We can also do the blades which are appropriate as well depending on what cheer we're going to be in. These can also be used intermittent in the chant, which is when we repeat, so we might do...Go team! Go team! Go...back to our stance. Go team! Go team! Go...back to our stance. This just makes sure that everyone is together, and everyone is staying neat."
