"Hi! I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you some cheerleading squad cheers today. We're going to talk about chants and I'm going to demonstrate some that you can take to your squad. It's very important when you're delivering your cheers to make sure you keep your volume up and project. If you're cheering at a football game, your fans are going to be very far away from you. Usually, you're going to be on the track that surrounds the football field and the rest of the people are going to be up in the stands. It's really important that you can get your volume across. If the crowd has no idea what you're saying, they're really not going to want to listen to you. You also have to take in account the referees, the whistles are loud, the players themselves are going to be on a bench directly behind you. They're going to be loud and of course, we're going to have the fans, which are going to be extremely loud. If you want to keep people engaged, you really need to project and keep high volume, especially when you're in a basketball court. There's going to be a lot of echoing going on, so that's really important. The second thing that's really important is your pronunciation of the words. I know a lot of people are going to have accents. That's okay. If you live in a certain part of the country where you do have an accent and the rest of the people do, that's going to be alright. However, if you move to a new area and you bring your accent with you, you're really going to have to work on your diction and dialect and take that down and so you can blend in with the rest of the voices. Collectively as a squad, we want to be speaking as one voice. If you have a certain accent, I would recommend taking some diction classes or working with a diction coach to get your pronunciation of the words correct."
