"Hi, I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village here to talk about cheerleading competitions. Now that we are ready to compete, we need to start learning our routine. You need to learn a routine about 4 month minimum before you head off to competition. A routine is going to consist of the following aspects, a cheer that is just going to be done into your words, a motion sequence which will be done in your music portion, you are also going to have stunts which is going to be individual groups. Also you are going to also have to include some pyramids, a dance is a requirement as well which will be set to music, there is going to be jump requirements. Usually the competitions are going to tell you what jumps they have to see and what jumps you can choose on your own. You are also going to have tumbling with your routine this will be during the music portion as well. Now once you know all the elements and you decided what you are going to do and in which order you are going to put them, you have to make sure you set the entire routine to counts it's going to underline your music you can set it to counts first like I mentioned before we always go 1-8 in cheerleading. So the whole routine will be set to 8 counts this is going to be up to the captains and the coach to set your routine. You really need to make sure you memorize the counts to everything in the whole entire routine."
