"Hi, I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village here to talk about cheerleading competitions. Once you have chosen your competition, you are going to have to learn the rules and regulations. The rules and regulations are going to vary from state to state. Now you really want to make sure that you get a printed out list of all the rules and regulations of the competition. This is really important and everybody in the squad needs to be knowledgeable, rules and regulations can be things such as no glitter. There are competitions that will immediately send you home if you have glitter. You don't want to travel all that way and get something silly as that. Other rules are important that are going to pertain as to safety issues. Such as what stunts are you allowed to do, how many levels high you can build them, how many people are allowed to be involved etc. It's also important to learn what things are appropriate as far as cheers, words, music, etc. some competitions will band certain music. So you really have to be on top of it and be prepared. This is something that the whole squad needs to make sure that they do under the coaches watchful eye cause you want to have a routine that is going to be appropriate for your competition."
