"Hi, I'm Lucy Spain on behalf of Expert Village here to talk about cheer leading competitions. Once you decided that you want to take your cheer leading squad to a competition, it's really important to raise money. You are going to need money to get there, to enter the competition, to be able to stay comfortably while you are there and to get home. Some great ways to raise money are car washes. Cheerleaders will often put on car washes if the weather permits. You can just do donations, make lots of posters, pin around your school and community. Let people know why you are raising this money. Don't usually set a cost it's really not appropriate if you are doing a fund raiser so ask for donations and you'll really be surprised what you get. Another great way to do it is to sell things. We can do candy sells, another cool thing a lot of people are really into the bracelets now. You can go ahead and make bracelets with your school colors on them and sell them for even a dollar for your competition. You can sell a lot of paraphernalia that the fans might want to wear to the game. Another cool way that some schools can device is 50/50 raffle tickets. You can go around your community and get a lot of the members to donate things such as dinner, gift, etc. and when people come to the game they can buy a 50/50 raffle ticket. Then you draw out at the end of the game, then you give away the prices. Sometimes you can also do money. This is really great for college students. Because you take the money that you brought in, you keep half of it and you just go ahead and give the other half out to the winner, it's a really enticing way to get college kids to donate. So make sure you fund raise. There is lots of ways to do it."
