Video Transcript

"Alright, the next exercise for strengthening the core is what I call a push plank. Now with this, what we're going to do is half pushup, half plank. The plank is excellent for strengthening the overall body and of course pushups are great for upper body. So with this we're going to do a combination of the two exercises. I'll demonstrate this exercise called a push plank. First I'll do the modified version and then I'll do the regular version. So modified, we want to get in pushup position. In the modified pushup position with the knees on the mat, your back is at an angle and your hands are straight in front of you about shoulder width apart. We push down, and then we bring the legs down and come up in to a plank and hold it. Then we'll come back down in to the pushup and plank. That's the modified version. Now I'll show you the regular version of the push plank. Pushup position, down in to a push up, up in to a plank, hold the plank five seconds or more, repeat, repeat. Now you want to do reps of maybe ten or more, ten to fifteen, maybe twenty if you have the stamina and that's really going to strengthen the entire body as you're holding that plank and using your strength to go down and then back up."
