"KIRK VICKERS: This next movement and drill is to help develop better posture and better body awareness. Chad again is going to help us demonstrate this particular movement. We've got Chad laying against the wall. His feet are slightly off about a foot, a foot and a half away from the wall. What we want to do is back here, there's a natural curve. We want him to flatten out his back so I can't move my fingers through there. If you see, as I try to push in, I can only go so far and then I stop because his back is completely flat against the wall. Once we're in that position, we want to make sure that the knees are not locked. There's a slight bend; the back stays flat. The next thing that we're going to do is we're going to bend his arms--bend--into a 90-degree position. Again, that's going to challenge that low-back area. We want to always make sure that the low back is flat against the wall. His head is back on the wall. The next thing we're going to do is slightly raise the arms as the back of his hands stay in contact with the wall as far as he can, and the thing that we're going to do is cue him back here to make sure that that low back is flat on the wall. We're going to go as high as we can. We're working on flexibility through the shoulders and through the entire spine. Make sure that back stays flat. Can you go any higher, Chad? Come here. And he's got pretty good flexibility. Most people can't get this high and still keep their low back flat and their head against the wall and then comeback down into this position. This is a great one for people that have had shoulder problems and shoulder issues in the past and people that have a lot of tightness and stiffness through the spine."
