"Alright, the next demonstration is sitting leg lifts. Now we're going to sit straight up just like we did with the knee extension, this time sitting straight, make sure your torso is nice and straight and strong. Also be sure that your core is engaged. It's very important that you stay strong in your core in your torso. So with the legs straight in front of you and the feet pointed, flexed up, legs are about hip width apart, so sitting on the mat, get nice and comfortable, sitting straight up, if you need to you can lean back to make it a little more easy and what we do is we just simply lift the leg. But we definitely want to be sure that we're engaging the muscle to lift that leg. Use your core to stay strong and lift using your quads again. So we lift up and we bring it down. Slow and controlled. Be sure you're breathing. Twelve to fifteen on each side. You'll definitely get stronger and you'll feel it. You're start to use your body when you're doing these exercises to really control all of your movements and you're engaging muscles that you'll use all the time but in a different way. You're learning to actually control the muscles and to get the muscles stronger which definitely takes some of the impact off of the knees because you're using more of your muscles. You're more in control and you're noticing how your muscles work. So that definitely helps. So we would do the same thing on the other side and we would do twelve to fifteen on each side. So when you're sitting straight up, it's a little more difficult. Then when you lean back it gets easier. So you want to adjust you're body so that you can actually feel it and adjust your body so that you can get the most out of your workout. And that's sitting leg lift. "
