The next exercise is called the 'Fire Hydrant'. It's great for really toning and firming the hips and the butt, that's what we're focusing on right now. The hips and the gluteus, the tush, whatever you want to call it, we're focusing on really toning and firming this area. Of course along with diet and exercise, these are some targeted exercises just for those muscles. This is what we're going to do. You're going to position your hands where they are about shoulder-width apart and make sure your back is nice and straight. On your hands and knees, just make sure you're in a good position where you have balance and you feel stable. You also want your head to be in alignment with your neck and your back. With everything in neutral alignment, all we're going to do is lift this leg up and lower it. You don't want to twist and turn too much. You want to keep everything in alignment and you want to position everything the way it is. The only thing that's moving is your hips are moving out, your hips are doing the work. With your hips and your butt doing all the work, everything is slow and controlled. We're going to do 15 on each side. So you do 15 on that side, and then we'll turn it around and 15 on the other side. This exercise is great. Really squeeze your butt when you're doing it, you'll feel the burn a little bit more. This is really great for toning and firming.
