"This is Kyle Hovercamp in Skatechurch in Portland, OR on behalf of Expert Village this is a tutorial of how to do a boardslide on your skateboard. In this clip we're going to talk about how to be safe when you're doing a boardslide. You're going to want to make sure that your comfortable with the speed that you're going when you're going to do the boardslide. You're going to also have to make sure to be comfortable with how high the object is that you're getting onto, you don't want to go too fast or do something too high. You might not be able to get onto it or you could slip out both of those things are pretty bad you can get injured doing that. So now we're going to talk about pads, things you can wear to protect yourself if you're going to fall, elbow pads, knee pads, if you're doing a big rail you're probably going to want to wear a cup. You can wear a helmet also, chin pads you can hit your chins on the rail pretty easy and just make sure that when you're falling you don't want to put your arm out. That's the natural thing to do and it's really easy to injure your wrist or break your arm, so you're going to want to try to run it out and if you can't run it out. Then take most of your impact on your shoulder or on your side or just on your butt, but just make sure you don't stick your arms out because it's really easy to injure your wrist or break your arm. By running it out I mean if you get onto a boardslide and you stick instead of just falling you jump off of your board and try to run so you don't fall."
