"This is Kyle Hovercamp in Skate Church in Portland, OR on behalf of Expert Village this is a tutorial on how to do a boardslide on your skateboard. In this clip I'm going to show you how to start small on boardslides. This is an example of a curb you really don't have to ollie onto it to do a boardslide. If you're a beginner that's where you should start out curbs, railroad tides, anything small, you really don't have to ollie onto it. What you do is just go for a boardslide you got to turn kind of fast then you just slide and turn out, you don't have to ollie onto it or anything. This is great for beginners, so just practice on these even though this is really small, you still have to lift up on the front of your board, push down on the tail just so that you can get your front truck over it. You just have to balance and keep your feet on the bolts just keep your body centered just like on a regular rails so that you don't slip out. Boardslides where you don't have to ollie into them are called sloppy boardslides, there's also sloppy nose slides to where you just, you're on your nose slides and get out there. It's alright to start small, work your way up but as soon as you can practice all the boardslides because when you're skating streets you do have to ollie to get onto boardslides then it does looks a lot better but for now if you're a beginner just practice on sloppy boardslides."
