"O is for on deck rigging. What you want to do with your on deck rigging is check make sure all your pins are in. Life lines, for instance, they are held by a little ring to keep them from turning. You want to make sure these are in, your connections here on the end are held by another little ring, and you want to make sure those are in where the pin would come off. Even though these are called life lines if the pins fall out and you grab a hold of it you are going overboard. The other thing you want to do; you've got your back stay, which is here. You come down we have more pins down here located on the end with a turn buckle. You can see that turn buckle is wrapped with tape out there to keep people from snagging their hands on the cotter pin. We also have them up here on the stays. The side stays you just want to make a quick check, make sure everything is in, the pins are ok. Just a visual check of everything here we have on our main sheet. We have shackles. You want to make sure all the shackles are in, that the pins are tight. Just an overall view of your boat. Make sure all your lines are clear, a visual check and that is you?re on deck rigging."
