"Hi this is Kelly at South Florida Tang Soo Do in Hollywood, Florida at Muse Art. We’re going to show you a classic Tang Soo Do technique, the hook kick. Korean styles are known for their high kicks and you’ve done concentration kicks on the wall on a regular kick and now you’re going to learn how to spin. The spinning techniques look like this, where I spin all the way around, I add the regular strength of my kick to the momentum, the angular momentum of a spin, but to break it down, it’s really pretty simple. A spin broken down is really just turning and then going back to the original kick that you already learned. So again, I turn, I focus on a spot on the wall so I don’t get dizzy, just like in ballet and then go back to the regular kick. When I put it all together with no break in it, it has lots of angular momentum which gives you more power. I would like to be able to spin on the ball of my foot, not heel-toe, heel-toe, but stay on the ball of your foot just like that. And pushing off, nice fast spin, flipping your head around and there you have it. "
