"This is Kelly from South Florida Tang Soo Do here in Hollywood, Florida at Muse Art. We’re going to show you how to build muscle strength doing Tang Soo Do techniques, one of the ways you can do that is by concentration kicks. They are called concentration kicks because we are going to really concentrate and do them very slowly. We are going to be using bio-feedback while you’re doing them. You’re going to put your shoulder or perhaps your arm on the wall, get your foot positioned in the proper position for whatever technique you’re doing, I’m going to show you how to do a hook kick off the wall. All kicks start with a chamber and then a kick and then go back to chamber. In this chamber, you’re going to see my heel pointing towards you, it’s going to come out like at the sidekick chamber, it’s going to curve around and then come back into its original position and we do this nice and slow with deep breathing. Ha Na – Dool – Set. (One – two - three.) Start with 10 go to 20 go to 30, variations of this is you can start off slow, do the middle fast and then finish slow. The whole time you’re thinking about posture, knee position and working your muscles. Later on you’re going to come off and do them off the wall in which you’re really using your calf, for example for a round kick, nice and slow – ha na and dool. And before you know it you’ll have nice strong muscles. "

on 8/2/2008 I realize that these kicks are presented primarily for building/toning muscle in the sidekick position, but I've used them for warming up, and they're beneficial.
