on 8/23/2009 Nice video! A lot of newer students would benefit from how well you broke the technique down in this video. One thing I would like to see in the future is how the High Block can be used to defend against a punch to the face. Not only does it deflect the punch but it leaves the ribs wide open for a counter attack. It seems like 99% of the time an overhead strike is used during demonstrations. Regardless... Awesome video!

"Hi this is Kelly and Aaron from South Florida Tang Soo Do here in Hollywood, Florida at Muse Art. In Tang Soo Do we do a lot of traditional techniques as well as more modern techniques. A traditional hand technique is a high block. Mr. Miller is going to demonstrate a traditional high block and he’s going to do it in front stance. So what you see is his front stance, nice – low, even lower front stance and here his arm is here so that something can be deflected off of it if he does it again. What you’ll see is that this is a circular technique meaning that it starts from the hip and goes up in a half circle. Your hands and fists are tight like so. So circular techniques against linear techniques to deflect. An example of an application would be an overhead strike. So a circular technique against something coming down linear. "
