"Welcome to Expert Village. My name is Kendall Wood and I'm here with Koya Webb and we're here to show you how to burn fat on a budget. I've been training for two years. I'm a certified personal trainer with ISSA and I trained in Atlanta, Georgia at Gold's Gym on Bells Ferry and 92 and I also trained at the Arthur Blank Foundation. I'm also a professional fitness model with the Fame organization where I am the current Canadian national champion. Today, Koya and I are going to show you exactly how you can get started with losing weight. Our first segment will be cardio. Cardio is extremely important because what you're trying to do when you're losing weight is increase the heart rate, making sure that blood is flowing through your body at a quicker pace to increase your metabolism. You don't want to do it too fast because the body goes for the stores that it has in carbohydrates to make quick energy. You want your cardio pace to be in the range of 65 percent to 75 percent of your maximum heart rate. But what is your maximum heart rate? That's 220 minus your age, then you multiply by 0.65. That's where you would get your target heart rate for cardio. To create a range, multiply this target by 0.65 and 0.75, which provides your range. So what you'd want to do if you're doing weight loss on a budget, you'll definitely want to get some type of heart rate monitor which gives you that automatic feedback. When you're in the gym and you're holding on to a machine and its your first time doing cardio, that can be extremely bothersome, constantly looking at the heart rate. With a monitor on your arm, you can see it rather quickly. We're going to show you how to do that in the most efficient way, today. "
