" Hi, I am Kinsey Snyder on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip we are going to talk about the provisional, what you do with provisional shots and how they affect the pace of play. We are on the 17th hole here, and I am already onto the green, and my partner Matt here is going to hit a shot. Well, unfortunately Matt pulled his ball a little bit there, and he has a good chance either being out of bounds, or in a really bad spot where he could not find it. So what we are going to do here is we are going to take another golf ball, we are going to declare it a provisional, which means you can hit another shot, and all you do is you have to declare what ball it is, what brand, what number, tee it up again, and hit it from the same tee box; it can be moved but it has to be on the same tee box. And if you do get up there and your first ball is in play, you can play that, no penalty. If you can’t find it within the proper allotted time, then you are going to have to play your provisional. So this saves a lot of time, you don’t have to go up there, and if you can’t find it, come all the way back, and tee it up under the legal rules of golf, so now you have two balls up there. If you find the first one, great, if not you don’t have to come back, saves a lot of time. So let us try it again Matt."
