"Now that you know exactly what darts are and the different parts of the dart, we're ready to actually show you how to begin throwing a dart. Now there's a lot of people who throw darts very wrong. There are a lot of different ways to throw darts and for safety you want to know the right way to throw it. Safety is a big importance because these sharp little things hurt a lot if they go into you. So we're going to want to make sure that they only thing that they're going into is the dart board. Now in a typical bar situation if you're playing at a bar or in a competition you're supposed to throw from about ten to twelve feet, it varies on where you're actually at and the space included. We're going to say ten feet is the best throwing distance away, so mark on the ground exactly with a piece of tape of something where you're going to start throwing your dart from. The right way to throw a dart. You have your stem right here, here's your stem and here's your stud. You're going to be holding your stem and stud to actually throw your dart. Now the wrong way to throw a dart is to hold it by the tip, to hold it from behind. A lot of people like to get fancy and they throw it from behind the dart and flip into the wall. This gets very dangerous because you never know exactly where you're throwing it unless you're an expert and you're doing trick shots. So it's very important, only hold it from the stem straight away. The best way is with two fingers like this and a thumb on the stem. This is the best way to throw a dart and then I'm going to teach you exactly the wrong way of throwing a dart, holding it up by your ear. This is the worst spot. A lot of people when they start throwing darts, they just figure I don't know this is the best way to do it so they hold it up by their ear and then they release here. This gives you no aim, absolutely none. The best aim that you're getting from this is you looking at the dart board and the darts going wherever the dart is going.
