"Hi, I'm Kevin Byford with the Ski and Snowboard Schools of Aspen on behalf of the Expert Village. Our next piece of safety equipment is the wrist guard. There are many types. It's key that you can get the wrist guard over your gloves. The ones that go under the gloves sometimes can be difficult to get your glove over, so if you do get those kinds, try them on in the shop, make sure you can get your glove on and off easily. Next thing is your clothing. Learning to snowboard, you may take a few falls. It's key if you can find some padding. If you have any old padding from other sports you may have done that you can put on both your knees and on your butt, as they're the two areas that you're going to land on when you're falling the most. And the last thing you need before you go out is protection from the elements, from both the wind, snow, and the sun. Chapstick, sunscreen, and definitely goggles or glasses when you're going out there to save yourself from the reflection of the sun."
