"Hi, I'm Kevin speaking on behalf of Expert Village on hiking. In preparing for your food needs, then you need to bring two different types of foods. The types of foods that are high in protein and the types of foods that are high in carbohydrates. A great example of a good that is high in carbohydrates is simple peanuts. Peanuts provide you with a lot of very needed calories and it's very good for you. Of course some people are allergic to peanuts, but there are many other kinds of nuts that will provide the same energy that the peanuts would. You can easily carry a few in your pocket, in a piece of plastic and just munch on them as the day goes by. Of course that's only an example, there are many other foods that provide carbohydrates. So by hydrating your body and giving it the calories that it needs, doing something as demanding as hiking will help you reach the end of that day with a smile instead of barely making it through."
