" Hello! My name is Kevin Winsley and I’m with Offshore Sailing School and now on Expert Village I’m going to show you how to tie a round turn and two half hitches. So we tape the tail end of the line the other end will probably be loaded. This would be standing line and take the line, it’s quite simply we come around over whatever it is what you’re tying line around and you just go around twice, you come around twice and that’s your round turn and then on to this we now put the two half hitches. So there’s one half hitch and then keep coming around in the same direction and that’s your other half hitch. So that’s a round turn and two half hitches. The great beauty of a round turn and two half hitches is if for some reason this line stays loaded and you need to untie, it’s very easy to untie even though the standing line is in fact loaded with say a boat."
