"Okay, these are "defensive warm up drills" that you can do as far as footwork and proper stance position. We reviewed this a little bit but the drills you can do on your own to practice is when you get low and you are in your defensive stance, practice shuffling your feet from side to side as quickly as possible. Make sure you stay low, you stay centered and your back is straight, just step and shuffle, step, shuffle, but you want to do it quickly as possible. Practice going back and forth and you can do this by running up and down the court or shuffling I should say, up and down the court and the more you do it the faster you will get at your footwork. Another warm up drill for foot speed is the basic "cross over", you see my foot, I am just crossing then I go behind, over and then behind, same way you go over, behind and stay low, same position you just want to go faster and that is a good drill for practicing footwork and practicing balance. Those are warm up defensive drills."
