"My name is Juan Carlos with Expert Village, and today we're going to be talking about softball for beginners. In this segment, we're going to describe the art of hitting in softball. This is a little different baseball as the hands are placed a little different and the swing is a little bit shorter and compact. The first thing is make sure your feet are set. You start with the bat on the shoulder and then lift. This is what all college athletes do. Then the step is the lead foot forward, like so. The second step is the turning of the back foot, like so, squishing the bug, as the term we call it, so we keep the weight back. The second thing is the hands go towards the ball, the snap, make the contact, and then the finish. "
