Video Transcript

"My name is Juan Carlos with Expert Village, and today we're going to be talking about softball for beginners. In this segment, we're going to talk about picking off a runner at first base. This can only be done in this situation when the pitcher has already brought her pitch towards the plate to the catcher and the lead off by the runner has already been made after she releases the ball. Once the catcher receives the ball, she has the choice of having the option to throw the ball to first base. The first baseman must catch that ball and tag her out before she reaches the base that she started from."
