"Hi my name is Juan Carlos with Expert Village and today I'm going to become a competitive baseball player. In this segment we're going to talk about practice regiments for an infielder. Now, for an infielder they take more ground balls than fly balls, so definitely you want to be able to practice having someone hit you ground balls on a daily basis, and get enough reps in to where you're improving your defense and the shifting of your feet and the glove on the ground in order to pick up and the transfer from the moment you pick up the ball until you fire the ball. Those three things are going to improve your defense and improve your range as an infielder. Now the most important thing about fielding ground balls is keeping your eye on the ball consistently all the way through until you catch the ball. Bring it up to the point that you're going to throw it and the release and the follow through."
