"Now what we're going to do is we're going to take the same combination and we're just going to add onto the end of it a little bit. This is a way that you can stay a little stationary, but by adding this at the end, it's going to add just a little bit of distance off to one side. So we start the same way, we go overhead here and we step back in, out, side. Now what we're going to do is we're going to step forward and punch. Here, punch. So now what's going on is the whole combination starts going this way, over, out and then moves. So it comes back to the central point, it looks like there's a little spin. Hit the strike and then we take off again. So it doesn't come here, whereas without V-stepping you'd be here and the best way to do it would just to be turn and go straight off to the side and then up this way. When you include the V-stepping it brings you back to a central point, but only for a moment so that you can take off again in another direction. So we're here, up overhead, hit, sweep, punch. What you have to keep in mind is that it's the same movement from your V-step with this motion here. You're still doing the same thing - you start with your overhead and then you come back out this way. The only difference is that there's a step in and a step out. So make sure, even by practicing this, this is a way to keep this fresh in your mind."
