"Okay so what we're going to cover is called "V-Stepping," and there's two different ways to do that. The first way is literally making a V with your steps, so what you're going to do is you're going to try to find a point. Typically at martial arts schools and things you have the plus-size mats. Well, we don't have those right here, but still you should get the gist of it. You want to start from a central point. Step out into your stance to, technically, usually about a 45 using that V line. Stepping back you're going to turn back to your central point and then step out, making a V with your steps, doing the same thing going back. Here and out. Doing that again, here and out. You want to make sure whenever you come back, even if it's a high stance, you want to make sure you practice hitting a stance. You don't just want to step and stand up straight. Now this is really good for when you're trying to do a form and you have a lot of movement in your form and you're going to take up too much room. Once again, like I said before in some of the other shows, judges will get scared. If you get too close to them and they feel fear, you will get downgraded. You want to make sure that the judges never feel that. They see your intensity, they don't feel it that close. So you want to make sure you step out to the 45, back, out to the 45."
