Video Transcript

" On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Julio Rivera. We're here Premier Martial Arts in New York City showing you Israeli Martial Arts. We're going to start with a choke from the front. This fellow chokes me this way. I'm going to show two variations: I'm going to show one where you want to just escape and get out of there. I'm going to show the other where you're going to engage your assailant. On this one, he's choking and I just want to get away. Maybe I don't think I can engage him, maybe because he's large or too strong for me. I'm going to kick to distract or a hit to the groin to distract. Now the kick can be just a little distraction like a kick to the shin. Or it can be a shot with the hand to the groin. Boom! I prefer the kick only because it allows me to kick and step for momentum. I'm kicking... stepping back with the same foot as my hand comes up high. And I slice down this way. I can come back with a strike in case he's coming forward and then take off. I'm already on my way out. I'm here... strike... come up high... here in case he's coming towards me... and I run. Now we can show you an escape from the front choke in real time."
