"Hi, I'm Karun, head Brazilian instructor for Academy Martial Arts in San Antonio and Schertz. And on behalf of expertvillage.com, we're going to be showing you how to do a collar choke. We're going to start demonstrating the cross collar choke from standing. Probably wouldn't actually ever do it in this position, but we're just going to start up here for the sake of explaining to get all of the details. And we're going to continue showing how to apply inside the guard, and also from the top mound. First, what we're going to do is, you're going to pull out, and you're going to have the first hand that enters, generally with your strong hand, right hand, and I'm going to as far back as I can, and I want to shoot to try to grab the tag in the back of the collar. When I hold my hands for the choke, I want to make sure that I position them as if I'm doing a curl. That's a common mistake when you grab that you're wrists lie against the contour, the neck. But we actually want to close off that position to make it tighter. So, we're going to enter here, I'm going to grip very tightly, trying to curl my fist up. The blade of my wrist is directly against his neck. Once again this is Karun. Thank you for watching these techniques on behalf of expertvillage.com.
