Hi! I’m Kate and I’m with Zoar Outdoor on behalf of expert village.com. I am going to talk to you about hiking and backpacking. After a long day of backpacking, you are going to want to be able to quickly set up your tent and easily. So now I am going to show you my easy way to set up my personal tent. Every tent is different but there is always stakes, some tent poles and you know the tent itself. This has been shoved down the bottom of your backpack for a long time so what I usually start off by doing is just laying out the tent, wherever I decide would be a good spot to camp. Next you are going to want to put some poles together. If it is really windy, you might want to consider putting something on your tent so it doesn’t blow away. My poles are color coded for where they need to be so I have two black poles and one blue pole. Make sure you don’t kill anybody as you are setting up your poles; they are very long. My tent has two doors in the front. I want to be easily to get out of my tent to go to the bathroom or whatever I might need to do so I will put the doors on either side of the open area. So when I start off, the black poles go first. This is a pretty easy set up and now it needs to go through these, out the other side and the second black pole makes an x right across. Some of the newer tents have clips so you don’t have to put the poles through the fabric but this works just as well. Now the blue pole is the crooks. This is going to go across the whole tent. I put all my poles in first which is a little difficult to do if you don’t know your tent, you don’t know how it is suppose to look because it doesn’t look like much of a tent right now.
