Series Summary

Paintball is a non-regulation sport in which the participants use markers (air guns) to strike opponents with paint splatter. Marked targets (players who have been 'tagged') are eliminated from the game. A more intricate version of the childhood game we know as tag, paintball involves teams and can be played indoors or out. In this free video clip series, our expert will introduce you to paintball with tips on clothing and attire, terminology and jargon associated with the game, as well as safety tips, aiming and firing techniques and game preparation. A variety of shooting strategies and types of games to play are included.

Video Transcript

"Hi! This is John. Today I’m going to teach you the basics of an exciting sport called paint balling. It enhances friendship and teaches cooperation. To get started in paint balling, you need 3 different basic items here. Number one, you’ll need a marker, that’s we have here. This will be to defend yourself. Also, you’ll need a mask, which is used to protect the two most vital sensitive areas, your eyes and your ears. Last, but not least, you’ll need a plug. This fits in the bore of the paint ball marker. What this does is that it prevents an accidental discharge. Most playing fields demand the use of this. If you have an accidental discharge from one of these, you can blind someone."
