Summary: Learn about the pros and cons of casting vs. jacketing bullets in this free how-to video on how to cast bullets, or how to make bullets by melting-down lead.
" Hi! This is John. Now, we’re going to be talking about the differences between a cast bullet and a jacketed bullet. In layman, a jacketed bullet is basically a bullet such as this rifle bullet that has a copper jacket around it. This can be driven at a much higher velocity than even a hard cast bullet. This bullet here happens to be for 270 Winchester rifle. They can be driven over 3000 feet a second without major fouling in the barrel. This bullet, here that I have casted for the 500 Smith & Weston magnum, can be driven between 1600 and 1700 feet a second without leading the barrel. This is a commercial jacketed bullet. This is a bullet that you cast yourself for your pistol."
