"Deer season usually begins in the fall anywhere from September to October in most states. They last any where from a few months to a few weeks. In Georgia it starts in September for bow season and then gun season starts in October and goes through January. Usually the requirements for licensing are 16 years old. If you are born after 1961 you are required to get a hunter’s safety course certification before you can get a license. This is in direct response to the number of fatalities and accidents that occur by people who were not familiar with gun safety or hunting safety. To be able to get a license you need to go to any sporting good store or gun store and they will supply you with a license in most cases. "
