"Hi everybody. I am John Hickey at Florida Surf Lessons. You can reach us at www.floridasurflessons.com. We are located out of Central and South Florida. What I am gong to discuss is continuing more on with the marine hazards. We have such as jelly fish and manowars. Jelly fish are about this big and they are silver, round, little tentacles underneath that sting. They have a sensation like a bee sting. Now what you want to do is get out of the water for a few minutes and they will go away within 5 to 10 minutes from stinging. You can also put vinegar on it which will help. Now the lifeguards always have vinegar because there is moonlight such as manowars out there, Manowars are really dangerous. They can seriously hurt you with all the poison in them. You have about 10 minutes between all the time the poison seeks into the body so what you want to do is run immediately to the lifeguard tower. He will spray you down with some vinegar. He will tell you to go back out there and have some fun. If you wait just a little bit longer, it is going to be more painful to you. So right away you want to rip that tentacle off, go to lifeguard towers, spray you down with some vinegar and you will be okay. I will be right back in just a moment."
