"Next we're going to talk about disc selection. And different shots you can use for different holes. All right, so here we are, we've found myself in a position. I'm on my upshot, my drive. Here I am at the basket, I've got this nice tree in front of me. I'd love to throw my AVR or my APX, one of my putters. And just throw strait at the basket, but obviously I've got a tree to contend with. So for me one of the best shots I would use in a situation like this, is I would go to one of my under stable or over stable mid range discs. And today I'm going to use my mid range crow. And again this is the shot that I would use. I would mark my disc with my marker. Just so I have established my position. This disc can go somewhere else. The important part of this, is when you've got an obstacle in front of you like a tree, is obviously to find out where your targets at. And then visualize the path you want your disc to make. So for me, to throw my AVR strait at, isn't really an option, because I've got the tree in my way. So for me I'm going to throw a forehand shot, with kind of like the tomahawk, but with my fingers inside this inside groove, with my thumb resting on the thumb track. I'm going to establish position with my left foot. Because leading with my left foot gives me a little visual of the basket. What I'm going to do, is I'm going to try to find an equilibrium with my hips. A nice even spot where I feel loose. Everything is loose, everything is flat. I know that I'm balanced. Now I'm going to take my disc, and I'm going to keep the flight plate of this disc just up just a couple of degrees. Just not much. The important thing to this, is this whole throw is only in your hand and in your wrist. You don't even have to move your arm. All you have to do is flick your wrist. I of course, you know you have to use your arms in lots of cases. But for me what I'm going to do is I'm going to just put a very easy flick on this. Kind of like flicking a towel. I'm going to flick this disc, and I'm going to try to get this disc to do a big circle around this tree and land in the basket. So, I find my balance. I visualize what I want to see in sight. And then I just make it happen. The thing I like about that throw the most, is that when that disc hits the ground, because I'm throwing it and making the revolutions go clockwise, it actually, when the disc hits the ground, it does a spiral and stays where its at. Compared to throwing the AVR with a back hand, when I throw that way, the disc hits the ground, it'll actually skip up and float about another ten foot away. Which isn't, you know you want to try to stay close."
